Arts Plaza

Kaleidoscope Park's Arts Plaza is a beautifully landscaped green space with an awe-inspiring work of art suspended above. World renowned fabric artist, Janet Echelman, was commissioned to create an original, woven fabric, art installation. Titled "Butterfly Rest Stop", the impressive piece will become the iconic image of Kaleidoscope Park. Echelman has taken her inspiration from nature, drawing on the Park’s geographic position along the monarch butterfly’s migratory pathway, to create billowing swoops of fine, brightly colored material reminiscent of the movement and flutter of a butterfly. The landscape surrounding Echelman’s work features a variety of native Texas plants that serve as food sources and reproductive sites for native pollinators.
